What is Staffic Apps?
Staffic Apps is the page where you track apps usage in Staffic's time tracker. While a member's timer runs in the desktop app, Staffic records the applications they use. Remote Track, Apps then lists them for each tracked session with its project, task, start time, end time and total time. Admins and roles with Remote Track access review any member; members see their own. It's on every plan, including Free.

Apps are recorded only while a member tracks time. Each session lands on the Apps page with its project, task and time.

Apps by session
Every app a session used, next to its project and time
Remote Track, Apps groups a member's day into tracked sessions. Each card names the project and task, the start and end time, the total time and every app used while it ran.
Pick a member and a date to see their sessions in order. Apps appear by name as the desktop app records them, such as Cursor, Slack, Brave Browser or Windows Explorer.

Choose a project, then one of its tasks, to see only the sessions logged to that work. It shows which apps a client project or a single task really uses.

You decide when apps are tracked
Admins set the rules under Settings, Activity & privacy, for the whole organization or one member at a time.
- Application tracking is off in a new organization until an admin turns it on
- Nothing is recorded while the member's timer is stopped
- Switch Tracking off for one member: their apps, URLs, screenshots and activity stop
- Members see the apps from their own sessions on the Apps page
- Only admins and roles with Remote Track access in Access control see other members

How does Staffic track app usage?
Staffic's desktop app records the applications a member uses while their timer runs, and nothing while it's stopped. The web app lists those apps on Remote Track, Apps for each tracked session, next to its project, task, start time, end time and total time.
Can I see which apps each team member uses?
Yes. Admins and roles with Remote Track access pick a member in the Member filter and see that person's sessions and apps for the date they choose. You can pick several members at once; members without that access see only their own.
Does Staffic show the time spent in each app?
No. Staffic shows the time of each tracked session (Start Time, End Time and Total Time) and lists every app used during it. For hours and activity per member, open the Time and Activity report.
Is app tracking on by default in Staffic?
No. Application tracking is off in a new Staffic organization. An admin turns it on under Settings, Activity & privacy, and it works on every plan, including Free.
Can I filter app usage by project or task?
Yes. Pick a project in Select Project, then a task in Select Task, and the Apps page keeps only the sessions logged to that work. It's the quickest way to see which tools a client project uses.
Can employees see their own app usage?
Yes. Every member can open Remote Track, Apps and see the apps from their own tracked sessions. They see other people's sessions only if their role has Remote Track access in Access control.
Which apps does my team use most?
The dashboard's Most used card lists the top 4 apps this week by active time, with how many times each was listed. For the full list, open your own Apps page or, for the whole organization, the Apps & URLs report.
Can I stop tracking apps for one member?
Yes, on every plan. Under Settings, Activity & privacy, Individual members, switch Tracking off for that person, and their apps, URLs, screenshots and activity stop. Application tracking itself is set for the whole organization.
How much does it cost to use Apps?
Every plan includes Apps. Free covers up to 2 members. Standard is $7.50 per user per month billed yearly ($3.80 during the current offer, until October 30, 2026) or $9.50 billed monthly, and Elite is $10.00 per user per month billed yearly ($4.80 during the current offer, until October 30, 2026) or $13.00 billed monthly.
