Staffic Projects is project time tracking built into the Staffic time tracker. Members pick a project and task in the desktop app, and every tracked hour lands on that project. Admins see status, deadlines and task progress for each project, along with budgets in hours or money, hourly or fixed-fee billing and project managers, on every plan. Elite links projects to clients and invoices.

Every hour your team tracks lands on a project, so each project shows its real effort, its tasks and its deadline.
Each row shows the project code, client, status with task progress, and deadline. Project management time tracking happens in that one list instead of a spreadsheet.

Name the project, pick a start date and a status, and add a code, client and deadline if you use them. A description keeps the goals in one place for the people managing it.

Staffic adds the money side that project management software with time tracking needs: billing rates, budgets and alerts.
Billing rates turn tracked hours into a billable amount, and a budget shows how much of the project is used. On Elite, that amount goes onto a client invoice.

Choose Hourly basis with one project hourly rate or a rate for each person, or a Fixed fee for the whole project. Staffic multiplies tracked hours by the rate to show the billable amount.

How to set up project time tracking in Staffic

What is project time tracking software?
Project time tracking software records the hours your team spends on each project, so you know what a project really took. Staffic is project management and time tracking software in one app: members track time against a project and task from the desktop timer, and admins see those hours with the project's status, tasks and budget.
How do I track time spent on projects in Staffic?
Members choose a project, and a task if it has one, in the Staffic desktop app and start the timer. Every tracked minute is stored against that project, on Windows, macOS or Linux. Manual time added in the web app also needs a project, so added hours land on a project too.
How do I track time spent on tasks?
Add the task to its project, assign it, and the assignee picks that task in the desktop app before starting the timer. The hours count toward the task and its project at the same time. Tasks lists the time worked next to each task's estimate (ETA).
Can time be tracked against projects, tasks and clients?
Yes. Time is tracked against a project and task, and on the Elite plan each project can be linked to a client, so a client's hours are the hours of its projects. Linking clients also lets you filter the project list by client.
Can I compare budgeted and tracked hours?
Yes, on every plan. Set a budget in total project hours or total project cost, and the project shows it next to spent hours, spent amount and billable amount. Notify at sends your admins an email when spending reaches the share of the budget you choose.
How do I report hours by project?
Open the Time and Activity report and pick the project, members and dates: it lists time worked and activity per member and exports to Excel or PDF, on every plan. The Tasks table also shows the time worked on each task next to its project.
How do I bill clients for project time?
Set each project's billing: one hourly rate for the project, a rate per person, or a fixed fee. On Elite, an invoice line linked to the project fills in the billable amount that hasn't been invoiced yet. The project's Invoices tab then lists every invoice for it.
Who can see a project's hours and rates?
Admins see every project, and members see the projects they're assigned to, directly or through a team. Pay and bill rates show only to admins and project managers, the people given Manage project. View details lets someone open a project without managing it.
How much does it cost to use Projects?
Every plan includes Projects. Free covers up to 2 members.
