One invoice per engagement
Keep each engagement as a project and bill its hours at your rate. Staffic suggests the next invoice number, and Invoice Settings fills in your bank details.
Invoice Maker
Staffic's Create Invoice form fills a line from a project's tracked hours or its fixed fee, then adds your taxes, discount and business details. Preview it as your client will see it, save it as a draft or send it by email. It's for consultants, agencies and small teams that bill for their time, on the Elite plan.

In short
Staffic Invoice Maker is the invoice maker software inside the Staffic time tracker. Pick a client, and on any line choose a project: Staffic sets the quantity to 1 and the unit price to what the project hasn't billed yet. Add Service or Product lines, two taxes and a discount, then preview the invoice as the client sees it and send it with a private link.
How it works
From an empty form to an invoice in your client's inbox.
Invoice maker software
Create Invoice holds the client, the invoice number, the dates, the currency, the lines and the totals. The grand total updates as you type.
When a line is linked to a project, its amount comes from the project's billing, so you don't retype hours from a timesheet. Lines without a project work like any invoice making app: a description, a quantity and a unit price.
Choose from your active clients, or use Add Client to save a new one without leaving the form: a name and email, plus phone and office location if you have them. Starting from a client's page picks that client for you.
Choose a project under Linked Project and the line takes the project's uninvoiced amount. For an hourly project, that's its tracked hours at the project or person rates; for a fixed-fee project, the fee. Either way, earlier invoice lines for the project are taken off first.
Each line is a Service or a Product with a quantity and unit price. Name Tax 1 and Tax 2, set each as a percent or a fixed amount, and switch them on per line. The discount comes off the subtotal before any percent tax is worked out.
Fill in Invoice Settings once and each invoice shows your address, contact details, website and VAT number under your organization name. Bank details, accepted payment methods, payment instructions and default notes appear where the client looks for how to pay.
Save the invoice as a draft and open View as Client to see exactly what your client will get. When it's right, Send Email delivers a private link to the client's address, and the dialog shows the shareable URL if you'd rather send it yourself.

Who it’s for
If you're choosing the best small business invoice system for hourly work, start where the hours are already recorded.
Keep each engagement as a project and bill its hours at your rate. Staffic suggests the next invoice number, and Invoice Settings fills in your bank details.
Bill a project's hours on one line and add a Product line for a license you resell, each with the taxes that apply to it.
Treat each job as a project and Staffic works as job invoice software: the hours your team tracked become the line, and the client gets a link to view and print it.

Pricing
Invoice Maker is part of the Elite plan, with a 7-day free trial. You pay per active user.
Compare every planPrices in USD per active user. Billed monthly, Standard is $7.50 and Elite is $9.80 per user.
Choose the project under Linked Project on an invoice line. Staffic sets the quantity to 1 and the unit price to the project's uninvoiced amount: the hours tracked on it at its hourly rates, minus what earlier invoice lines for that project billed. Add one line per project to bill hourly work project by project.
Yes. Choose Save & Send on the form, or Send Email on a saved invoice, and Staffic emails the client a private link to view it in any browser, with your bank details and payment instructions. You can edit the subject first, and the Send dialog shows the shareable URL if you'd rather send it yourself.
Your details, yes; your own logo, no. Invoice Settings holds your address, phone, email, website, VAT number, bank details, accepted payment methods, payment instructions and default notes, and every invoice shows them with your organization name. There's no logo upload, so invoices carry the Staffic logo.
Each invoice has its own currency, picked when you create it, so one client can be billed in euros and another in US dollars. Every amount on that invoice shows in its currency. Staffic doesn't convert between currencies, so a line linked to a project takes the project's amount as it is: check it suits the invoice's currency.
Record a payment for the amount due. Open the invoice, choose Record Payment, and enter the amount, the date and an optional note. The status changes to Paid once payments cover the grand total, or to Partially Paid before that.
Yes. Download any invoice as a PDF from the invoice list, or open the client view and choose Print / Save PDF. Your client can save or print it the same way from the link you send.
Yes, two taxes and one discount on every invoice. The discount is taken first, then percent taxes are charged on what's left of the lines they're switched on for: on a $1,000 subtotal with a 10% discount and a 20% tax, the tax is $180 and the grand total $1,080. A fixed tax is added once.
No. Invoices, clients and Invoice Settings are on the Elite plan. Free covers time tracking for up to 3 members, and Standard adds project billing, so you can see what a project's hours are worth before you move to Elite and invoice them.
The Elite plan includes Invoice Maker: $5.80 per user per month billed yearly or $9.80 billed monthly, with a 7-day free trial.
