What is Staffic Work Notes?
Staffic Work Notes is the work log software built into the Staffic time tracker. Members write a note in the desktop app while the timer runs, or add one to a session on the Screenshots page. Each note keeps its project, task and time range, and the Work Notes page lists them by date as a daily work log. It's on every plan, including Free.

Work logging software works best when the log is written during the work, not rebuilt at the end of the week.

Work log software
A daily work log written as the work happens
Every note sits with the session it belongs to: who wrote it, the project and task, and when the work ran. Notes from the whole team come together on one page, by date.
Each entry shows the member, project, task, the session's start and end, and the note itself, under the date and time it was written. The Screenshots button opens that member's screenshots for the day.

Members write notes in the desktop app while they track. On the Screenshots page, Add note attaches a note to one session, and a badge on the session shows how many notes it has. Recordings has the same Add note button on Elite.

A note on a session takes its project, task and start time, so the log reads in context later. The same project, task and times show on that session's screenshots and on the daily timesheet.

Admins, and roles with Remote Track access in Access control, pick one member or several and any date range. Members see only their own notes. Times show in the organization's time zone or the member's own.

Work log software records what each person worked on and when, so the log replaces end-of-day emails and status spreadsheets. In Staffic the log is built from tracked time: members write notes while the timer runs, and each note is saved with its project, task and session.
Is Staffic daily work log software?
Yes. The Work Notes page groups every note by date and time, with the member, project, task and session beside it, so each day reads as a work log. It's on every plan, including Free, and admins can read the whole team's log in one place.
How do members add a work note?
Members add work notes in the Staffic desktop app while they track time, and the note is saved with that session. They can also open Remote Track, Screenshots, click Add note on a session and type it there. Recordings has the same button on Elite.
Who can see work notes?
Members see only their own notes. Admins see everyone's, and so does anyone whose Access control role includes Remote Track. Note times show in the organization's time zone or the member's, whichever the reader picks.
Can work notes be edited or deleted?
No. Once a note is saved, Staffic has no way to edit or delete it, so the work log stays as it was written. If a note was wrong, add another note on the same session that corrects it.
Is there software that logs apps and websites used during work hours?
Yes. Staffic logs the apps and websites used during tracked time on every plan, alongside the work notes. New organizations start with URL tracking on and app tracking off, and admins change both in Settings, Activity & privacy. Nothing is recorded while the timer is off.
Is Staffic construction work log software?
Only for the computer side of a construction business. Staffic tracks time, notes, apps and websites on Windows, macOS and Linux computers, so it fits estimators, designers and office staff. It doesn't log work done away from a computer.
How is work logging software different from a timesheet?
A timesheet says how long someone worked and on what, while a work log says what they actually did. Staffic keeps both on the same sessions: the timesheet adds up the hours, and Work Notes holds the member's own description of each session.
How much does it cost to use Work Notes?
Every plan includes Work Notes. Free covers up to 2 members. Standard is $7.50 per user per month billed yearly ($3.80 during the current offer, until October 30, 2026) or $9.50 billed monthly, and Elite is $10.00 per user per month billed yearly ($4.80 during the current offer, until October 30, 2026) or $13.00 billed monthly.
